FIFA20 South Tournament

Online Tournament Rules

This page is a comprehensive summary of the tournament rules and code of conduct.

We did our best to include rules for all possible scenarios but sometimes support from players and teams might be needed to enforce the fair play principles.

Every player must have knowledge of the behaviour guidelines and online tournament rules.

1. General

The tournament administration retains the possibility to change or amend the below rules anytime during the tournament and in any special case to guarantee fair play.

1.1 FIFA20 South Tournament staff take for granted that each participant who enters this tournament is aware and understands all the rules. Lack of knowledge cannot be used to justify not-compliancy.

1.2 Every participant has to behave professionally and friendly towards everyone involved in this tournament. Repeated or significant violations will be addressed and eventually leading to disqualification.

1.3 Official language for the Competition is English.

1.4 The FIFA20 South Tournament is collaborating with eSportsRivals.com to host and empower the tournament.

1.5 Be mindful that this tournament is not an official Nike event and it is solely organized by employees for employees.

2.3 Phase 1(Preliminary) & Round of 64:

2.3.1 Forthy Two (42) players will go automatically to Round of 64 due to the number of participants and tournament structure. This number can be amended in case final number of participants is updated.

2.3.2 The choice of the 42 players was random using the eSportsRivals website automatic allocator.

2.4 Every participant is required to be online in the WhatsApp Chat of the tournament 5 min before the agreed match start and check-in with the opponent.

2.5 Delay cap is 10 minutes. A default loss will be assigned to the player that will not check in or show up within 10 min after match starting time.

3. During the match

3.1 Each player is responsible for his/her own internet connection. It is necessary to have a stable connection to avoid possible latencies and disconnections.

3.2 When the EA servers are going down during a match and after its confirmation by the FIFA20 South Tournament staff, that specific match will be rescheduled and played again.

3.3 If a match finishes with a draw, players do a rematch in Golden Goal mode (First player to score wins).

3.3.1 - If the Golden Goal match ends a draw then the winner will be chosen by random draw. FIFA20 South Tournament staff will do the draw and communicate to the players.

3.4 Disconnection(Not due to EA Servers but for players connection): in the event that a game disconnects before the match is over, the game will be immediately re-launched by the HOME player and brought to completion considering the situation at the time of disconnection. That is, players will be asked to work together to reach a "recovery" point. Players will have to play the remaining time to reach the 90th minute (for example, if a match has disconnected in the 65th minute, it will therefore be necessary to play the remaining 25 minutes to complete the 90 minutes of the game). The score from both sides of the game will be added up. For example, if a game has disconnected on the result of 2-1 and the result of the second portion of the game is 0-2, the final result considered valid will be 2-3. The game will end as soon as 90 minutes are played. This rule applies to all tournament games.

3.4.1 If the restarted game ends with a draw, players need to follow the 3.3 rule.
